CONSCIENTIOUS YEJIDE ADENIYI

Winner, RADIO PRESENTING, AT THE 24TH DAME

Yejide Adeniyi is a 2002 graduate of English from the University of Ado Ekiti. While in the university she had always known she would end up as a broadcaster, little wonder she found her way into the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State as a presenter. After a short career as a teacher, she joined the Voice of Nigeria in 2005 as a news editor and presenter. She is still at VON, this time as a principal news editor and presenter.

Her winning entry was her presentation on “Noise pollution and Lagos” aired in October 2014 for the programme, “Our Environment”. Produced by Justin Unemhin with Amaka Chukwu as studio manager, “Noise pollution and Lagos” has earned Yejide Adeniyi her first DAME as the 24th DAME Radio Presenter of the Year.
