DAME honours Bonuola, Adefaye, Omotoso, Olamiti, 13 others at 30th Edition

Mr. Lade Bonuola, former managing director of the Guardian Newspapers Ltd and pioneer editor of The Guardian will receive the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th presentation fixed for Sunday, 19th December at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Bonuola, 75, has put in over 50 years of productive service to Nigerian journalism. Three other journalists, Gbenga Adefaye, editor-in-chief and general manager of Vanguard, Gbenga Omotoso, present information commissioner and former editor of the Nation, and Folu Olamiti, former editor of the Nigerian Tribune will be conferred with the honorary fellowship of DAME.

Winners in thirteen categories will be conferred with honours which comprise of cash reward, a work tool, plaque, and certificate. The presentation is the culmination of an elaborate process of calling for entries, sorting and collating them at the secretariat before allocating to different committees of judges to screen and shortlist for final assessment.

DAME works with partners from various sectors of society: international NGOs, professional associations, individuals, public and private organisations deemed sufficiently committed to a free, strong, and responsible media.

To date, 560 prizes have been awarded in 29 outings.
