CITATION OF Chikodi Okereocha, WINNER OF THE BUSINESS REPORTING PRIZE AT THE 25TH DAME
For the second time, Chikodi Okereocha is carting away a DAME prize at the 25th.
Through his entry Devaluation: Harsh climate for manufacturers, Okereocha posits that the crashing value of the Naira occasioned by the global slide in the price of crude oil which is the mainstay of the nation’s economy, has brought difficulty for manufacturers, many of whom depend heavily on foreign inputs.
Drawing widely from the first-hand experiences of affected business owners, Okereocha dutifully demonstrates how devaluation has impinged badly on the economy, leaving sour taste in the mouth of workers many of whom have been retrenched as part of the cost saving measures by manufacturers.
