DAME MOURNS OJEAGBASE’s PASSAGE

The Board of Trustees of the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME) mourn the passing of Mr. Sunny Obazu-Ojeagbase, celebrated sports journalist and publisher/chairman of Complete Communications Ltd. publishers of Complete Sports and Complete Football.

Apart from being a colleague of some of the trustees at the Guardian Newspapers, where he was the pioneer sports editor, Ojeagbase also sponsored the Sports Reporting prize of DAME for seven years.

A former soldier before embracing journalism, the trustees note that he was a resourceful person who revolutionized the face of sports reporting in print journalism. He would go on to serve as a mentor to a host of would-be entrepreneurs through his Success Attitude Development Centre (SADC), which he co-founded with his wife, Esther.

The trustees urged the family to be proud of the good name he has left behind and find a way to sustain his legacy and republish some of his books, which included: “How to Make It in Nigeria – Building Your Wealth from Ground Floor Up”, “How to Bullet Proof Yourself from Poverty”, and “Ideas – The Starting Point of All True Riches”.
