CITATION OF MARTIN AYANKOLA, THE EDITOR OF THE YEAR

Martin Ayankola, the editor of the year, started his career with the Nigerian Tribune on January 15, 1993. He rose to become the paper’s Lagos Bureau Chief before crossing over to BusinessDAY in August 2008 as the paper’s Deputy Energy Editor.

Nine months later on April 21, 2009, he joined The PUNCH. He was appointed the Business Editor of The PUNCH in August 2011 and was promoted as Editor, The PUNCH, on January 2,2013. In 2014, he was the first runner up in the Editor of the Year category of the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence. Last year, he was the Editor of the Year at DAME. He is repeating the feat this year.

Ayankola has a Bachelor’s degree in History/Sociology from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife {1989} and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. Under him, the PUNCH is waxing stronger.
