THE EDITOR OF THE YEAR

Martin Ayankola holds a Bachelor’s degree in History/Sociology from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife {1989} and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism.

Martin Ayankola started his journalism career with the Nigerian Tribune on January 15, 1993 and rose to become the Lagos Bureau Chief before leaving in 2008. He joined Business Day newspaper as the Deputy Energy Editor and left in April 2009 for The PUNCH.

In August 2011, he was appointed the Business Editor of The PUNCH. Barely two years later, on January 2, 2013, he was he promoted Editor of The PUNCH. In 2014, he was the first runner up in the Editor of the Year category of the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence. Today, he is the Editor of the Year
