VERSATILE MUYINAT AKINYEMI

Winner, RADIO DRAMA, AT THE 24TH DAME

Muyinat Akinyemi is a versatile and goal-oriented individual who is thirsty for success. Her winning work in this year’s DAME Radio Drama Category, “Merchant of Knowledge“, tells the story of a mother’s preference of a booming business career at the detriment of her own son’s education.

Akinyemi through her work emphasises the importance of child education. The report serves as a reprimand to parents who place frivolous priorities above the responsibility of ensuring the best quality of education for their children. Being a drama for kids, the work takes a unique edge by involving children as the main actors and carriers of the message. Akinyemi is a graduate of Radio and Television Broadcasting from the Lagos State University Adebola Adegunwa School of Communication. She started her broadcasting career in 2007 at the Voice of Nigeria, Falomo Ikoyi Lagos.
