WINNER OF THE RADIO DRAMA PRIZE

This is the third time Nwando Alayande will be winning in the Radio Drama category at DAME. She emerged winner in the radio drama category at the 18th DAME 2009, 23rd DAME in 2014, aside emergence as the 1st Runner Up at the 19th and 22nd DAME respectively.

With her entry Flying without wings, Alayande is winning the Radio Drama prize. Aired on Ripples, a 15-minute docu-drama programme on the Voice of Nigeria, it is an inspiring story of a courageous story of a young lady who chose to keep her dreams of a great future alive in the face of a daunting challenge of visual impairment in her prime. She had suffered the fate while writing her University matriculations examination. It is a compelling story, for the lady, who demonstrated ability in the face of adversity.

Born in 1980, Nwabundo Ifeoma Alayande, a drama script writer, is a senior producer/presenter with the Voice of Nigeria.
