ENGAGING SAM OMATSEYE

Winner, INFORMED COMMENTARY, AT THE 24TH DAME

Sam Omatseye is an engaging writer, journalist, poet, playwright and novelist. He is a columnist and the Chairman, Editorial Board of The Nation Newspaper, having previously been Editor and Deputy Editor at This Day and Sunday Concord respectively.

He also taught Journalism in the Colorado State University, USA before eventually committing to journalism full time. A History graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Sam has also been honoured on other podiums aside DAME at home and abroad. Only this year, he was inducted as Honorary Fellow, Nigeria Academy of Letters, Lagos. With his feat tonight, Sam is now a four-time winner of the Informed Commentary prize, which he won earlier in 2010, 2011, and 2014.
